Cycle-ball Worlds in Ludwigsburg: Germany names Stein and Hofen/Prechtal duos
German Cycling announced its squad on 12 October for the Indoor Cycling World Championships, which run from 30 October to 1 November 2026 at the MHPArena in Ludwigsburg, according to rad-net.de. In the men's cycle-ball event, the federation is relying on Michael Birkner and Robert Mlady of RMC Stein. Jannes Müller and Simon Becker of RV Gärtringen are named as the reserve pair.
The women's spot goes to Judith Wolf and Danielle Holzer of SG Hofen/Prechtal. The pair won the 2025 world title in Göppingen, beating Switzerland's Sava Baumann and Chiara Dotoli 6-1 in the final. The remaining places in the German squad are taken by artistic cyclists.
Both cycle-ball teams head to Ludwigsburg on the back of a tournament win: Birkner/Mlady and Wolf/Holzer took the most recent World Cup round in Elzach. The championships had originally been scheduled for Derby in Britain. As they could not be held there, they were awarded to Ludwigsburg at short notice.
