Cycle-ball Worlds: Germany beat Switzerland 4-0 in the women's final
Germany's women defended their cycle-ball world title on Sunday, 1 November, at the MHP-Arena in Ludwigsburg. Judith Wolf and Danielle Holzer of SG Hofen/Prechtal beat Switzerland 4-0 in the final, adding a third straight world title to their wins in 2024 and 2025.
Switzerland lined up with Valerie Suter and Chiara Dotoli in the final. Suter, a substitute, had to step in for Sava Baumann. Germany had already won both group meetings between the two sides, 7-2 and 3-1.
The German pair went through the event unbeaten. They won all four of their group games with a combined score of 25-3, including 9-0 and 6-0 against Japan. Switzerland finished second and Japan third.
Switzerland's place in the final was only settled after Sunday morning's two games. The Swiss first lost 3-1 to Japan, but Japan then went down 6-0 to Germany. That left both teams on three points, with Switzerland's goal difference of minus 7 well ahead of Japan's minus 15.
