Gifhorn win the Fortuna Cup cycle-ball tournament in Leipzig
Ten teams from the 2. Bundesliga and Oberliga met for the Fortuna Cup on 3 October 2026 at the Dieskaustraße gym in Leipzig. Gifhorn, with Corvin Rowold and Christian Kramer, won every group game and beat Zeitz 7:1 in the semi-final. Their opponents in the final were Saalfeld's Dominic Espen and Jonas Zetsche, who had edged Niederlauterstein 6:5.
According to radball.at, Gifhorn took the tournament win with Saalfeld in second place. Tobias and Marco Buschbeck of Niederlauterstein finished third after a 5:4 win over Zeitz.
Two further tournaments were held alongside. Lars Bretschneider and Arnd Sauer (Leipzig 1) won all five games in the district league event ahead of Mutzschen, while in the U13 competition on 4 October, Fraureuth 2 with Gustav Böttcher and Alois Hupfer were unbeaten in six matches.
