UCI opens bidding for the 2029 and 2030 Indoor Cycling Worlds

Hosts for the cycle-ball world titles of 2029 and 2030 are wanted: candidates must declare their interest by 31 December 2026, with a decision due in August 2027.

The UCI has invited bids to stage a wide range of world championships between 2028 and 2033, rad-net.de reports. For cycle-ball, the key events on the list are the 2029 and 2030 UCI Indoor Cycling World Championships, where the women's and men's tournaments are played alongside artistic cycling.

Bidding happens in two stages. By 31 December 2026, candidates must send a letter of intent backed by letters of support from their local authorities and their national federation. The full bid file and the bidding fee are due by 31 January 2027.

The hosts will be chosen at the UCI Congress on 23 August 2027, held during the 2027 cycling world championships in Haute-Savoie, France. Before that, this year's Indoor Cycling World Championships take place in Ludwigsburg, Germany, from 30 October to 1 November.
