Czech pair wins U23 cycle-ball European title in Kamenz
The UEC U23 European Championships were held on Saturday, 19 September 2026, at the airfield sports hall in Kamenz, Germany, with RFV 1900 Wiednitz as the organiser. Ten teams from the Czech Republic, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Slovakia and France started in two groups at 11 a.m. before the knockout stage got under way at 6 p.m. In the final, Martin Konecny and Dominik Sabata, competing as Czech Republic 2, edged Max Schallert and Timo Lampert of Austria 2-1, as radball.at reports.
Both finalists had come through their semi-finals 4-2: Konecny and Sabata against compatriots David Petr and Michal Musil, Schallert and Lampert against Germany's Sullivan Pittner and Lenny Schwarzbauer. Petr and Musil then took bronze in the third-place match against Pittner and Schwarzbauer, which stood at 4-4 after regular time and remained goalless in extra time before the Czechs won the penalty shoot-out 4-3. Germany's other pairs, Torben Noatnick/Leon Mambk and Christian Kropat/Raphael Seidel, finished fifth and sixth, ahead of Slovakia, France and the two Swiss teams.
The same weekend, RSV Hardt hosted its Franz-Laufer-Gedächtnis-Pokal at the Arthur-Bantle-Halle in Hardt. The elite tournament for teams from the Oberliga and 2. Bundesliga went to the hosts Florian Müller and Jannic King, who beat the Swiss pair Jari Kern and Michael Grütter of RS Altdorf 2-1 in the final, while RV Kemnat 2 took third place with a 7-2 win over RV Langenschiltach. In the U11 class, Jonah Müller and Elias Auber of RSV Hardt finished first, and the U15 women's event was won by Sarah Kraller and Frieda Rümmele of SG Dornbirn/Höchst with twelve points and a goal record of 27-1.
Also on Saturday, the Radsporthalle in Waldrems staged the 6th Siegfried-Winter-Gedächtnispokal from 6 p.m., and the Radballcup at Fraureuth's Erich-Glowatzky-Halle featured elite, U15/U17 and U13/U15 girls' tournaments, with the U13 following on Sunday at the EGLO-Halle.
